Rhodiola rosea has been shown to have similar properties as Panax ginseng and some believe that it surpasses ginseng in terms of efficiency.
The plant belongs to a group of medicinal herbs called adaptogens.
These herbs are believed to increase the body’s general adaptability and therefore its resistance to external stress factors like heat, cold, noise, and high altitude.
Unlike many other medicinal herbs, it is believed to work on the whole body rather than on a particular organ or systems and the theory is that adaptogens can adapt their effect on the body’s needs.
Adaptogens herbs like Rhodiola enhance the immune system. They increase the production and activity of specialized cells like natural killer cells and T cells, responsible for fighting bacteria, viruses and cancer.

I am 66 years old.I have ACUTE MYELOID LEUKEMIA, with an IDH2 mutation. I was diagnosed in Dec of 2018. I refused induction treatment and went on an odyssey to try and heal “naturally”. After several hospital stays I started a target chemo pill (IDHIFA) in May of 2019. I see a Hematologist once a month at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Currently we are monitoring my blood counts twice a week. Overall there have been some improvements. I have done a lot of research into the matter and am always open to new advice. Would Rhodiola Rosea be indicated as a supplemental treatment in my case?
